Kathmandu Valley Trekking a combination of cultural and scenic country walks on high ridges and green hills that surround Kathmandu valley, where one can hike catching grand panorama of the Himalayan Mountains with stunning sunrise views. Kathmandu Valley Trekking includes scenic hills of Chisapani and Nagarkot where one can enjoy striking sunrise views over the chain of peaks from Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang to Jugal Himal range extends as far towards Everest region. Kathmandu Valley Trekking where you will be walking in the tranquil environment with a green lovely forest of rhododendron-oaks-pines and fir tree lines and exploring far farm villages, an opportunity to witness Nepalese rural life of interesting cultures with the backdrop of snow-capped peaks.
Driving leads to the foothills of Kathmandu valley rim where the walk begins through farm areas and forested areas to scenic Chisapani for fabulous scenery of mountains and sunrise, and then continue walks into forested areas with ups and down to reach at Nagarkot a great place for scenic views of the sunrise over the chain of Himalayan peaks.
After a great morning with grand views heads towards east direction reaching at old Newar town of Dhulikhel with constant views of mountains and then ending our wonderful walks at holy Buddhist spot at Namobuddha one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage place within the serene surrounding.

Best Seasons: Nearly all months of the year except wet months from June to mid-September, where’s March to May lively with wildflowers and rhododendron (Nepal national flower in blooming times, where days are clear for views. October to December another best months for clear views with short daylights, cold in the morning and night times

Short Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Drive to Sundarijal 1,450 m & trek to Chisapani 2, 175 m – 04 hrs.
Day 02: Trek to Nagarkot 2,120m – 06 hrs.
Day 03: Trek to Dhulikhel 1,550m – 06 hrs.
Day 04: Tour of Namobuddha 1,460 m and drive to Kathmandu.
Detail Itinerary:
Day 01: Drive to Sundarijal 1,450 m and trek to Chisapani 2,175 m – 04hrs.
The walk starts with the drive towards North of Kathmandu Valley rim at Sundarijal, located 15 k.m distances from Kathmandu valley and city area. From Sundarijal walk uphill past farm villages, beautiful waterfalls to reach Shivapuri National Park entrance, from here walk into forest and within farm areas to reach at Chisapani located northern high ridge of Kathmandu valley, at 2,175 meters with views of snowcapped peaks from Annapurna-Manaslu-Ganesh Himal, Lang tang Himal extends towards Jugal Himal range includes views of Kathmandu valley and of stunning sunrise and sunsets.
Day 02: Trek to Nagarkot 2,120m – 06 hrs.
After morning grand views with sunrise over snowcapped peaks start the walk on the nice trail through lovely rhododendron, pines forest with downhill to reach Chowki-bhanjyang, a small farm village. After this village on the gradual winding path for few hours past Jarsing Pawa to Kartike Bhanyang and then with an uphill to reach at famous touristic hill town of Nagarkot for an overnight stop in the comfort of nice hotels or resorts with mountain views. Nagarkot, located at an elevation of 2,120 meters, this hilltop is famous for stunning sunrises and sunset views reflecting its light on the range of snow-capped mountains from Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Langtang-Jugal Himal Mt. Gaurishankar and all the way to the eastern horizon towards Everest range of peaks.
Day 03: Trek to Dhulikhel 1,550m – 06 hrs.
From Nagarkot with morning views sunrise over mountains, walk starts on winding path with some gradual up past farm villages and cultivated terraced field and into cool forest with nice wide trail with few short ups and downhill to reach another beautiful destination at Dhulikhel, famous tourist destination with number of fine Mountain Resorts overlooking panorama of mountains, this old Newar town located eastern rim of Kathmandu valley.
Day 04: Tour of Namobuddha 1,460 m and drive to Kathmandu.
Early morning catch views of the sunrise over the mountain, where a short walk leads south into the pristine environment at holy Namo Buddha, a sacred Buddhist place this holy sites known as the Three Stupas in Nepal is Tagmo Lüjin “The place where future Buddha sacrificed his body to a hungry tigress”. Enjoy the walk and tour around serene surrounding visiting sacred monuments and monastery and then head back to Kathmandu after an interesting time at Namobuddha.

I have done 3 treks with Anjan and Nepal High Trek & Expedition Langtang gosainkund Trek, Everest Base Camp Trek and Island peak climbing and Annapurna circuit Trekking 5 years before in Nepal. That’s was wonderful and lifetime trip in my life. In 2010, my son, husband and I did the Langtang Valley Trek with Anjan as our amazing guide. His knowledge of the area was extensive, including walking expectations, weather and terrain conditions, and the best places to stop, rest, eat and sleep. So much so, that other Trekkers called on his advice despite having their own guides. He was a very acknowledges an expert mountain guide.
